About WhatsMyDuty
WhatsMyDuty is a free tool that helps small and mid-size US importers understand the full effective duty rate on their products — including all stacked tariffs from Section 301, Section 232, and reciprocal surcharges.
Why we built this
The US tariff landscape has undergone unprecedented disruption. In 2025 alone, importers faced 47 presidential trade actions, 32+ HTS schedule revisions, and a Supreme Court decision invalidating an entire category of tariffs. The effective tariff rate jumped from 2.2% to 27% in a single quarter.
Enterprise compliance tools cost $15,000–$500,000+/year. Small importers — who represent 97% of all US importers — are left checking government websites manually. WhatsMyDuty exists to close that gap.
Data sources
All tariff data is sourced from official US government sources:
- US International Trade Commission (USITC) — Harmonized Tariff Schedule
- Federal Register — Tariff proclamations, rules, and notices
- US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) — Implementation guidance
